ESL Workshops are designed to support English language learning students with their development and understanding of the English language. These workshops are recommended for students who are currently attending ESL classes or who believe that they can benefit from English language practice with speaking, listening and reading. Workshops are FREE to SBVC students!

Online Workshops:
In these workshops, students will learn how to pronounce sounds, words and sentences in the English language. They will also be provided with opportunities to practice and strengthen their pronunciation skills.
Location: In person in Building 3 (the portables behind the SBVC water tower)

In these workshops, students will be provided with the opportunity to ask questions about topics that they have questions about in their grammar lessons. Students are encouraged to bring their grammar homework assignments and grammar questions to the workshop.
Weekly topics can include the following:
How to use Prepositions (examples: at, on, in, to, for, from)How to use Articles (examples: a, an, the)Understanding word order in sentencesUnderstanding run-ons and comma splicesUnderstanding how to use coordinating conjunctions (examples: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so)
In these workshops, students will be provided with opportunities to talk about different topics as well as practice reading skills in the English language.
