How to Speak with a Counselor
To speak to a counselor, you can schedule an appointment with a counselor via Cranium Cafe, a web-based counseling platform. For quick questions, you can also go to the Cranium Cafe's Lobby for a short drop-in counseling session (see the notes below). You must have your SBVC student ID to make an appointment and speak with a counselor.
- Technical Information: Make sure to use Chrome or Firefox browsers when using Cranium Café.
- Login Information: The username and password will be the same one used for WebAdvisor.
- Online Lobby Link: General Counseling Student Lobby
- Drop-in counseling is available for quick questions, if you require a longer meeting time the counselor may suggest that you to make an appointment.
- Counselors will assist students based on their entrance time into the lobby. If the lobby is “locked,” it means no more students will be allowed to enter the lobby.
- Please check your audio and visual component before entering the lobby in the Pre-Meeting Check
- Online Appointment System: General Counseling Appointment
- Appointments can be made up to 2 days in advance.
- Please review this pdf, including the audio and visual component, one day prior to your appointment.
Note: We make the utmost effort to see students in a timely manner. However, registration periods tend to be the busiest times to meet with a counselor. Thus, students may experience at times a longer waiting period. Please be patient with us as we work to expedite the services needed. We thank you in advance for your understanding and support.
