In this workshop, students will learn about and understand how to use MLA format for their written compositions. Some of the skills that students will gain from the workshop can include understanding the fundamentals on how to properly cite sources in the context of their papers as well as organizing information for the Words Cited page. These are important skills to have in order to avoid plagiarism.
In this workshop, students will learn the fundamental components of an academic essay. Some of the lessons that are covered are as follows: how to create an appropriate title, how to organize information in an introduction paragraph as well as how to structure a concluding paragraph.
In this workshop, students will learn how to recognize and use common prepositions. They will also learn how to identify prepositional phrases which is useful in adding details to sentences as well as helpful in identifying the subjects of sentences.
In this workshop, students will learn strategies to help them gain confidence with writing. Some of the lessons that students will learn are as follows: how to identify writing anxiety, what may cause writing anxiety, as well as strategies to overcome writing anxiety.

In this workshop, students will learn how to avoid writing run-on and comma splices in sentences, which are common grammatical errors in academic writing. Students will learn what constitutes a complete sentence as well as strategies that they can use to correct run-ons and comma splices in sentences in their compositions.
In this workshop, students will learn what a conclusion of a paper is. In addition, they will learn about what to include and how to organize the ideas for a conclusion.
In this workshop, students will learn what an annotated bibliography is as well as why it is an important step in the preparation for research project. Students will also learn how to compose meaningful annotated bibliographies to enhance their research projects.
In this workshop, students will learn how to use coordinating conjunctions (aka FANBOYS) to connect complete ideas in sentences.
