Apply to the Nursing Program at SBVC
Ready to take the next step toward a career in nursing? The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program accepts applications twice a year, with admission cohorts beginning each fall and spring. Each application cycle selects 55 students through a competitive, multi-criteria admissions process. Before applying, carefully review the important dates and application steps below to ensure your application is complete and submitted by the deadline.

- If you have completed ALL prerequisites at SBVC only, please meet with a Nursing Counselor to complete an Evaluation for Application.
- If you have completed prerequisites at other colleges, please follow Admissions & Records steps to submit your official transcripts and request an evaluation of prior credit.
Nursing applications that do not contain a completed Evaluation of College Credits
Earned from an Admissions & Records evaluator or Nursing Counselor will be denied.
Please allow plenty of time for the evaluation process to be completed. No exceptions
will be made for students who do not submit a request for evaluation within the required
time frames.
Please double-check your courses to ensure they have been evaluated and accepted.
Look for an asterisk () on science courses. If an asterisk () appears, refer to the
Notes section on your Evaluation for an explanation.
Application Review Workshops are Zoom workshops intended for those who are applying
to our Nursing program this term. Please register prior to attending. Late admittance not permitted.

- Applicants will be ranked based on the sum of points from the Multi-Criteria point system.
- Applicants will be notified of their application status approximately 6-8 weeks after the closing application date. Due to the high volume of inquiries, please do not contact the nursing program regarding your application until the review period is complete.
- Be sure to study for the TEAS during this waiting period if necessary.

- There is no waitlist.
- Applicants are either “accepted” or “denied”.
- If denied, students are welcome to reapply.
- If selected as an alternate and not admitted, students may apply for the following application period.
After acceptance into the nursing program, you must complete the following requirements:
- Background Check
- COVID-19 Vaccine
- Personal Medical Insurance
- 10 Panel Drug Screening
- TDAP, MMR, HEP B, Varicella, Tuberculosis Screening, Polio & Influenza
- Student Nurse Malpractice Insurance
- A Health Clearance Which Includes a Physical Exam
- American Heart Association CPR Certification
- Valid Auto Insurance
