Requirement for new student admissions:

  • Any individual, age 18 or older, who can reasonably profit from instruction.
  • Any individual who has graduated from High school or who has been awarded a California Certificate of Proficiency, who has successfully completed the GED, or has been awarded a certificate of completion from a high school.

• To begin your application, visit opencccapply.net and create a new account.

• Once you are signed in, select "San Bernardino Valley College" from the menu.

• Complete all 7 steps of the application, and submit!

Next, you can fill out the FAFSA (FREE Application for Federal Student Aid), which helps determine your financial need and aid eligibility.

To receive the highest amount of financial aid, submit your FAFSA as soon as October 1, and before March 2.

Complete or renew your application using the federal school code #001272.

Not a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non-citizen? Fill out the CA Dream Act Application Instead. To learn more, read this guide.

New students are required to complete Orientation. Complete the "Online Orientation (SBVC)" in SelfService - printing out the Orientation Certificate.
Guided Self-Placement and Questionnaire. Guided Self-Placement identifies present levels of skill in English, Math, Reading & English as a Second Language (ESL) Learners. You will not be denied admission based on results! Complete the "Online Placement (SBVC)" in SelfService

Meet with a counselor to develop your Educational Plan. A counselor is a valuable resource to help reach your goals! Schedule a same-day appointment by visiting General Counseling or call 909-384-4404 (First-come, first-served basis).

If you have completed a pre-requisite at another college a counselor can help clear you for registration.

Confirm your Priority Registration date in your SelfService account.

This can be found by clicking the "My Academics" tile on the SelfService home dashboard.

How to register for classes in SelfService.

Pay your fees at the time of registration. Currently, No-Drop for non-payment of registration fees.

Not all registration fees are covered by the BOGG Fee Waiver (Covers $46 per unit charge). Read about Enrollment Fees that are required & how to calculate them.
