San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) was established in 1926. It is one of the 112 colleges within the California Community College System. The college is accredited by ACCJC/WASC (the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.)  SBVC operates on the semester system.  Fall semesters begin in August, spring terms start in January, and summer sessions start at the end of May.

greek theatre with snowy backgroundThe college is located in the city of San Bernardino, about an hour from downtown Los Angeles, beaches, Disneyland, and Big Bear Mountain ski resort. It welcomes international students from different countries of the world. 

The college offers four types of programs:

  1. University Transfer preparation
  2. Transfer degrees--AAT or AST (Associate of Arts or Science Degrees for Transfer)
  3. Associate degrees--AA (Associate of Arts) or AS (Associate of Science)
  4. Vocational Training Certificates
