San Bernardino Valley College accepts course work from colleges accredited by one of the following seven national regional accreditation agencies:

  1. New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (NEASC-CIHE)
  2. Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Higher Education (MSA/CHE)
  3. North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Higher Learning Commission (NCA)
  4. Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)
  5. Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS)
  6. Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities (WASC-ACSCU)
  7. Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (WASC-ACCJC)

Colleges and universities that are accredited by one of the above accreditation agencies do not accept credits from U.S. colleges and universities that are accredited by other accreditation agencies. This is an important consideration for students who might want to transfer the credits back to SBVC or another college or university, or for students who might continue on to graduate school for a Master's or other advanced degrees.
