Our Mission

The Office of Student Life assumes a leadership role in creating a campus environment that integrates the learning experience which complements the academic curriculum. We provide programs and services to enhance students' ability to learn and develop the life skills necessary to become productive and caring members of our global society. Student participation in the design and implementation of campus wide programs provides opportunities to develop and enhance characteristics of leadership, interpersonal skills, and personal growth. The office provides structured activities, programs, services, resources and facilities to accomplish this mission.

What We Do

The Office of Student Life supports the work of the Associated Student Government (ASG), the Inter-Club Council (ICC), and individual clubs by facilitating leadership development, activities planning, the purchasing process, supervising budgets, and approving the use of facilities and the posting of announcements. We coordinate and/or support various campus events including Welcome Week, Wolverine Day, and Commencement. The Office of Student Life is also responsible for the production of Student ID Cards, which can be used to access campus services and as a bus pass for the local Omnitrans. We also oversee the Valley 360° Resource Center, or food pantry on campus.

Student ID Cards

If you already have an ID card, you do not need a replacement. ID cards do not expire and are valid during your time as a student at SBVC.

Student ID cards can be requested in-person during our hours or via online form. Registered students can complete the form to request a first time ID card or replacement ID card: https://valleycollege.edu/request-student-id

Only students who are registered for the current semester and meet the photo guidelines will be given an ID card.

Students will have the option to pick up their ID on campus at the Office of Student Life or have their ID mailed. Please allow up to 1-2 weeks for processing.

If you have previously requested an ID card and have not picked it up, please email studentlife@valleycollege.edu about pick-up or mailing.

ID cards can be used on the Omnitrans Go Smart Program for each semester enrolled (fall, spring, and summer). It will not be active for the bus if students are no longer enrolled and/or drop all their classes.  We recommend getting your ID card in-person if you will be using it for the bus.
