The SBVC psychiatric technician department will begin accepting applications in fall
2022. Application will be accepted during the applications period only. The link will be available at that time and accessible below. Please answer all questions honestly and submit the required documents. Also, have
your official high school transcripts (or higher level degree) and all other official
transcripts submitted to Admissions & Records prior to applying. For further information

The Admissions & Records department is accepting the evaluation request of “Prior
College Credits Earned” beginning July 1st, 2022 through August 30th, 2022 for the
Psych Tech student who have completed all the prerequisite courses for the Program.
This opening period is for the Spring 2023 applicant.
The Psychiatric Technology program is a one-year vocational program that prepares
students to work with emotionally, mentally and developmentally disabled clients in
a variety of community agencies. The Psychiatric Technology program prepares students
to take the California Psychiatric Technician licensing examination. Students may
also choose to earn an Associate Degree. The Psychiatric Technology program is accredited
by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
