Career Assessment Resources

The assessment serves as a tool to enhance the students' process of discovering what the major should be as it relates to a career. Multiple career assessments are available. The various assessments focus on personality, interest, abilities and skills. The following assessments are available to students:

1. Eureka

Eureka is a computerized online California Career Assessment and Information System. This analysis is based on your assessment of who you are. EUREKA also provides a database with specific information on careers, financial aid, majors, and job search tools. This career assessment tool can help with:

  • Identifying skills that students rely on every day and how they translate to the workplace. EUREKA offers tools that guide student in the right direction and help them to find their career options.
  • Students can find colleges/universities and training programs that are just right for them.
  • Students will find career information that is the most comprehensive and extensive around. If you find an interesting career, we have the information to get started.

2. Career Cruising 

Career Cruising is an online assessment designed with one goal in mind - to help students plan their future. With exceptional assessment tools, detailed occupation profiles, and comprehensive post-secondary education information, students move seamlessly through the career exploration and planning process. Career Cruising focuses on:

  • World Class Assessment
  • Intuitive Career Exploration
  • Comprehensive Education Planning
  • Engaging Portfolio Development

3. MBTI-Myers Briggs Type Indicator

This assessment is a psychological questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. This tool can be used to determine what the best careers are and which work environment is best for you based on your psychological type.

4. Strong Interest Inventory

This inventory is a powerful tool that can help you make satisfying decisions about career and education. Whether you are starting on your career path, thinking about change, or considering education options for career preparation, you can benefit from a wealth of information reflected in your Strong results. Keep in mind Strong measures interest, not skills or abilities and that results can help you toward rewarding careers, work activities, education programs and leisure activities all based on your interest.
