I give thanks this week for all the blessings at San Bernardino Valley College. Last week was another action-packed week with the Foundation retiree luncheon, BFSA links and drinks, Native American Day, Blue's birthday, the 22nd annual Communication Studies Speech Tournament, and a full schedule of athletics competition as all 6 of our Fall sports competed in the postseason for the first time in school history last Saturday.

Fall 2025 is fast approaching the campus closure for the Thanksgiving holiday.  I want to express my gratitude and thanks for each of you.  I am grateful for your daily investment in the success of our students, your teamwork across campus, and your dedication to the mission of Valley College.

Last week was full of festive and colorful events, such as Barrio Fiesta, Wellness Spooktacular, and Día De Los Muertos.  In Athletics,  we kicked off basketball season with Midnight Madness in the gym and our football team beat Grossmont College to improve our record to 6 wins and 3 losses.

As we close out October, we continue to make incredible progress across campus in our centennial year.  We honored and hosted centennial BBQs for our Men's and Women's Cross Country teams who earned Inland Empire Conference Championships last Friday in San Diego.

Last week was epic at San Bernardino Valley College. We hosted 7 town halls regarding the collegewide reorganization, attended the San Bernardino State of the City on Tuesday, both College Council and Academic Senate met on Wednesday, hosted the Dual Enrollment Summit and the SBCCD Olympics on Friday, and we hosted the Magical Music of Motown and the Pasefika celebration at the football game on Saturday.

Last week was another eventful week here at SBVC. By the end of October, we will have completed 39 of our 100 events celebrating 100 years at Valley College!

Last week was another exciting week at San Bernardino Valley College.  I had the opportunity to meet with the City Manager from the City of San Bernardino to share exciting centennial events and opportunities to strengthen collaboration between the College and the City.
