The Puente Learning Community is a supportive environment that helps you build confidence in your writing skills and prepare for transfer to a four-year university.  Students from all backgrounds are encouraged to join!

About Puente

Elizabeth Banuelos Counselor, Puente Program/General

Hello, I love working at SBVC! I'm alumni from this college. I used to be part of the Puente program here as well. I am a first-generation college student. I transferred to UCR and earned a B.A. in Psychology then completed my M.A in Counseling at the University of Redlands. I want to support and encourage every student to complete and achieve their academic goals starting at SBVC.

About the Puente Project

The mission of the Puente Project is to increase the number of educationally underrepresented students who enroll in four-year colleges and universities to obtain their bachelor's degrees and return to the community as leaders and mentors of future generations. Puente's Community College Program was established in 1981. Puente has been at SBVC since 1984.
