Despite being separated from his nine siblings and bouncing through numerous foster homes in his youth, Devonte Kilgore has found academic success through the SBVC Guardian Scholars foster youth program. He will be graduating next spring with an associate's degree in administration of justice.

Shannon Galuszka has spent a lifetime in the theater, growing up in the company that her father literally built. She expresses her interests in theatre as "[sharing] our secret with the world. The shows are moving, the talent is some of the finest in the area, and our venue is beyond words."

Origami is going to space and Chris Esquer-Rosas is helping it get there. A computer engineering student at San Bernardino Valley College in Southern California, Esquer-Rosas used to do origami only as a hobby, but now he's using it to build a giant sunflower-shaped structure that his team hopes will provide a new window into worlds beyond our solar system.
