4 Simple Steps to Financial Aid FAFSA Application

To apply for financial aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at: FAFSA or Dreamer students must complete the California Dream Act Application online at: DREAM Application.

In order to electronically sign your FAFSA application, you must apply for a FSA ID username and password when logging in to FSA ID. All dependent students are required to have at least one parent apply for a FSA ID username and password.

1. Student completes a new or renewal 2018 -2019 (Fall 18, Spring 19, Summer 19) and/or the 2019-2020 (Fall 19, Spring 20, Summer 20) Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at FAFSA and use the federal school code # 001272.

2. In 7-10 days, San Bernardino Valley College will notify you via email once your FAFSA is received if additional documents are required to determine your financial aid eligibility.

Check your Student Email account and/or WebAdvisor (My FA Documents) for any required documents that may need to be submitted to the Financial Aid Office.

 3. Students must submit all required documentation to the SBVC Financial Aid Office as soon as possible. Most required documents can be downloaded online by clicking on the Online Forms. All student files are processed, in date order, based on the date the last document was received; processing may take a minimum of 8-10 weeks.

 4. Students must enroll for Direct Deposit or the BankMobile Vibe Account.  You will be mailed a refund selection kit, or you may request an instant personal code needed to setup your account at refundselection.com.  More information can be found at BankMobile Vibe.


 

NOW IS THE TIME TO COMPLETE YOUR 2019-2020 FAFSA APPLICATION!

Meet the March 2nd priority deadline by applying now! Go to www.fafsa.gov and submit your 2019-2020 FAFSA application which goes into effect the Fall 2019 semester. By completing your FAFSA application early the Financial Aid Office can determine your CA College Promise Grant eligibility automatically. No waiting in line required! If you meet eligibility requirements your CA College Promise Grant fee waiver will be applied to your account before the beginning of the Fall 2019 semester. Additionally, by applying early you may be considered for additional grant funding!

Students will be notified, via their SBVC email account and WebAdvisor, of required documentation needed for file processing by May 2019. Students must submit all required documentation before the Financial Aid Office can determine eligibility. 

 

DREAMERS - NOW IS THE TIME TO COMPLETE YOUR 2019-2020 DREAM ACT APPLICATION!

For students who are not a U.S. Citizen or Eligible Non-Citizen you may qualify for a CA College Promise Grant Fee Waiver, state grants and scholarships.  Determine your eligibility.

Meet the March 2nd priority deadline by applying now! Go to https://dream.csac.ca.gov and submit your 2019-2020 Dream Act application which goes into affect the Fall 2019 semester. By completing your Dream Act application early your CA College Promise Grant fee waiver may be available before the beginning of the Fall 2019 semester. 

Please note, all CA Dreamer students must meet AB540 eligibility requirements, as determined by the Admissions and Records Office, to be considered for a CA College Promise Grant fee waiver.
