How to Enroll
Welcome, Dual Enrollment Student!
Dual Enrollment allows high school students to take college courses at SBVC, earning both high school and college credit. Whether you want to get ahead in your studies or explore a new subject, SBVC is here to support you! Your journey to college starts here!
Requirements for Dual Enrollment Admissions
- Must be a high school student enrolled in grades 9-12.
- Must have approval from your school, parent/guardian, and SBVC.
- Must complete all required forms and steps to enroll.
Steps to Enroll
- Select San Bernardino Valley College as your school.
- Complete and submit your application.
- Check your SBVC student email within 1–3 business days for your SBVC Student ID.
- Complete this form first — this helps us track your enrollment. Have your SBVC Student ID or application confirmation number ready.
- If you entered your confirmation number, please allow time for our office to locate your SBVC ID number.
Dual Enrollment Request Form
- Use this form to request your dual enrollment course(s) from Admissions & Records.
- Make sure your parent or guardian receives the email to sign the form.
Deadlines:
- Classes beginning Tuesday, January 20, 2026 → forms must be signed and submitted by Friday, December 12, 2025
- Late-start classes → forms must be submitted by all parties at least 3 weeks before class start, but no later than Wednesday, February 4, 2026
Course Change Request Form
- This form is now closed. Course additions or changes for Spring 2026 are no longer being accepted.
Enrollment limits still apply, even if you requested multiple courses:
- Fall & Spring: up to 11 units (up to 15 units with approval)
- Summer: up to 8 units
- You do not have to register for every course you requested.
- Once registered, you are responsible for dropping or withdrawing if you no longer plan to participate.

Frequently Asked Questions
- First, check the email you used on your OpenCCC application — your SBVC ID number is usually there.
- If you don’t see it, you can search for it here (only if you included your Social Security number on your application).
- If you still can’t find it, call the Dual Enrollment Office at (909) 384-4467 and we can look it up for you.
- Need help logging in to the SBVC Portal? Call the Help Desk at (909) 384-4357 to reset your password.
- Check your Valley College student email for an update once your petition has been processed.
- If you don’t see an update in your inbox or spam folders, email sbvcdualenrollment@valleycollege.edu, or call the Dual Enrollment Office at (909) 384-4467 for help.
- You can register for your class during open registration and until the day before it starts. After that, you’ll need add authorization from your instructor, and it must be done before the class’s add deadline.
- Check the Class Schedule for class dates, details, and textbook or materials information.
- Remember, it’s your responsibility to register on time.
- Dual Enrollment students in California don’t pay per-unit course fees — those are waived.
- You may still need to pay other small fees, like health or student service fees, depending on your school district.
- There’s also a limit on how many units you can take through your school’s Dual Enrollment program — up to 11 or 15 units in fall and spring, and up to 8 units in summer.
- If you’re not sure what applies to you, check with your high school Dual Enrollment designee.
- Some school districts pay for textbooks and materials — others don’t.
- Check your class’s required materials in the Class Schedule and use SBVC’s BookSaver Program to rent most materials. Some districts also cover rental costs.
- If you’re not sure, ask your high school or Dual Enrollment office
- Only take the placement test if you plan to take Math or English that term.
- Complete it in Self-Service before Step 2 (the Intake and Dual Enrollment Request forms).
- If you need to request a different course, you’ll need to submit a Course Change Request through the SBVC Portal.
- Note: Course change requests are only accepted up to three (3) weeks before classes start.
- San Bernardino Valley College offers support for students with disabilities through our Student Accessibility Services (SAS) office.
- If you need help or have questions, please reach out to SAS directly.
