The Film, TV, and Media Program at San Bernardino Valley College–with its cutting-edge curriculum and outstanding faculty–guides students on a path towards transferring to a university and/or career preparation in the media and entertainment industries. Offering pathway driven Associates Degrees and Certificates in Digital Filmmaking, Audio Technology, Social Media Video Production, and TV Studio Production, we provide students with the necessary critical and hands-on creative tools to launch their college-level film and media education, while also helping them find the right university for transfer and/or guiding them towards a career.

Film, TV, and Media 130 class in actionWe offer essential, innovative courses in Film/TV/Media Studies and Film/TV/Media Production. Our goal is for students to gain a foundational understanding of the key aesthetic, historical and industrial concepts of cinema, as well as a fundamental, technical practice in Digital Film, Streaming Media, and Television Production. Our space location includes a 30-station digital iMAC PRO lab with Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Davinci Resolve 15, ProTools, and After Effects.  Our location also offers a state-of-the-art Podcast studio and a color correction studio offering Davinci Resolve software and hardware. The program also offers students a large variety of full frame and large format cameras to learn and create with. Lastly, our students learn in a state of the TV Production Studio with KVCR (local PBS affiliate).

Our program also prides itself on large scale production projects that allow students to create and collaborate in a professional setting. Annually through our program students produce a half hour sketch comedy show, web-series, and a feature film. Our program also promotes our students through an annual international student film festival, which attracts industry professionals. Lastly, our program offers its students career development planning, through portfolio development, specialized workshops, and professional networking opportunities.
