Week of November 3, 2025
My Fellow Wolverines!
Last week was full of festive and colorful events, such as Barrio Fiesta, Wellness Spooktacular, and Día De Los Muertos. In Athletics, we kicked off basketball season with Midnight Madness in the gym and our football team beat Grossmont College to improve our record to 6 wins and 3 losses.
Both College Council and Academic Senate met last week with completely full agendas. The VRC presented a proposal to College Council to remain in their current physical space, even when the Student Services Building is completed. Thank you, Jason Alvarez and Nicholas Chavez, for your boldly student-centered approach with our student veterans and their families. We also received a presentation from Dr. Sheri Lillard about accessibility, a Valley Up Initiative Overview from VPSS Yvonne Gutierrez-Sandoval, and the feedback comments from the college community regarding the REORG.
This week is Homecoming Week at Valley College. We look forward to welcoming alumni and community members to campus to celebrate our 100th homecoming. At 11AM Wednesday, wear your blue at a pep rally at the gym. Please join us on Saturday (11/8), along with thousands of fans, at the final home football game at 6 PM against LA Pierce College.

Last Saturday, the BLU Foundation, Rialto Unified School District, the College Board, and Young Visionaries sponsored a College Fair in B-100. I want to thank our teams in A&R, Financial Aid, and everyone who supported this event. Thank you, VPAS Keith Bacon for providing a warm welcome.
