I spent the weekend in Sacramento at the CCLC Effective Trusteeship Workshop and the CCLC Legislative Conference. It was an honor to join Chancellor Diana Rodriguez, CHC President Kevin Horan, Jose Torres, Angel Rodriguez, Ynez Canela, and members of our Board of Trustees.

Welcome to 2026! We have officially entered our centennial year. Over the break, I had the opportunity to spend time with loved ones, to reflect on the many blessings in my life, and the tremendous work we are doing at Valley College.

The calendar has been packed with excitement with Winterfest, President's Holiday Gathering, and the Chancellor's Winter Celebration. These opportunities are so important for community building as a college, as a district, and as a community.

I give thanks this week for all the blessings at San Bernardino Valley College. Last week was another action-packed week with the Foundation retiree luncheon, BFSA links and drinks, Native American Day, Blue's birthday, the 22nd annual Communication Studies Speech Tournament, and a full schedule of athletics competition as all 6 of our Fall sports competed in the postseason for the first time in school history last Saturday.

Fall 2025 is fast approaching the campus closure for the Thanksgiving holiday. I want to express my gratitude and thanks for each of you. I am grateful for your daily investment in the success of our students, your teamwork across campus, and your dedication to the mission of Valley College.

Last week was full of festive and colorful events, such as Barrio Fiesta, Wellness Spooktacular, and Día De Los Muertos. In Athletics, we kicked off basketball season with Midnight Madness in the gym and our football team beat Grossmont College to improve our record to 6 wins and 3 losses.
