In 100 years of offering athletics at San Bernardino Valley College, the school had never seen a day like November 22, 2025.

For the first time in SBVC history, the athletic program featured six teams – every squad from the current fall sports offerings – playing in postseason action on the same day.

The distinction of having all six teams participate in the postseason for the first time in school history was cemented when the pairings for the soccer and volleyball playoffs were released by the California Community College Athletic Association. But, thanks to victories by the men’s and women’s soccer teams in the opening round on November 19, all of SBVC’s fall teams ended up playing on the 22nd.

The events kicked off in the morning at Woodward Park in Fresno, where the men’s cross country team continued its run as one of the top teams in the state by posting a sixth-place team finish at the 3C2A State Championships. Freshman Micah Watson earned All-American status by finishing the 4-mile race ninth overall, with sophomore Zach Calderon finishing not far behind in 15th position. The women’s team completed its season with its third conference championship in a row, and finished 18th as a team.

As day turned into evening, the football team traveled to Lancaster to take on Antelope Valley College in the Western State Bowl. It was SBVC’s first trip to a bowl game since 2019. The final result wasn’t what Wolverines ’fans hoped for, but SBVC finished the 2025 season with a record of 7-4, after having won only one game over the previous three seasons.

On the soccer pitch, after thrilling extra time victories at home to open the playoffs, the Wolverines hit the road for the second round. The women’s team took on the top seed in the region, Saddleback, and fell to the Bobcats 3-0, finishing the season with a record of 10 wins, six losses, and six draws. It was the first time in three seasons that the women’s team finished with a winning record. Meanwhile, the men were closer to home, falling to Mt. San Antonio College, 1-0. SBVC finished the season tying the school record for most wins in a season with 14, the second time in three seasons the Wolverines have reached that mark.

Wrapping up the long day was the women’s volleyball game, with the team hosting a first-round playoff game for the second consecutive year. The Wolverines were locked in a tight battle with College of the Canyons and found themselves down 2-1 after three sets. But SBVC picked up the pace and wore down Canyons, sweeping the last two sets to advance to the second round. There, the Wolverines faced top-seeded San Diego Mesa, and pushed the Olympians to four sets before falling.
