Middle College High School graduates getting ready

It was another year of milestones for Middle College High School (MCHS), which saw a 100% graduation rate. Each member of the Class of 2025 also met the A-G requirements for UC and CSU eligibility and was accepted to at least one four-year college, including UCLA, UC Berkeley, Pomona College, USC, University of Redlands, and Cal State San Bernardino.

MCHS partners with San Bernardino Valley College and the San Bernardino City Unified School District to offer local students an alternative high school experience, which includes earning college credit. This year, 45 of the 69 MCHS graduates received AA degrees in addition to their high school diplomas, with several earning multiple degrees.

The Class of 2025 is diverse, hard-working, and ambitious. It includes 90% first-generation college-bound students; 13 SBVC Grand Merit Scholars, who achieved straight As throughout high school; and MCHS's first NCAA scholar-athlete, who will be attending Clark University on academic and athletic scholarships. This is a "remarkable achievement for a school without CIF sports," noted Principal James Espinoza.

Additionally, two-thirds of the class graduated with honors or high honors, and collectively they earned more than $1 million in scholarships and will leave MCHS with an average of 60 transferrable college units.
