The Student Accessibility Services - High Tech Center supports students, faculty, and staff, in the use of specialized systems that assist with reading, writing, and studying. Students with disabilities will have access to learn and use programs that meet best practices of Universal Design for Learning.

Student Accessibility Services (SAS), High Tech Center (HTC) is a computer lab on San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) campus for students with disabilities.

All students with a disability that are accepted into SAS are eligible to use the HTC. Students that have a disability and will request to be admitted into SAS, may use the HTC for support to complete the California Community College (CCC) application, free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), access to SelfService, SBVC Course registration, and other SBVC applications.

Services that SAS-HTC provides are the following:

  • Assistance to current and future SAS students with CCC application, FAFSA application, and SBVC SelfService
  • Tutorial assistance to access SBVC Online Placement, Online Orientation, Course Registration. CANVAS, and SBVC Financial Aid processes
  • Tutorial assistance both group and individual as accommodations require in Assistive Technology
  • Alternate Media Conversion of text books, classroom print materials into audiobooks, electronic text, Braille, large print and other formats
  • Test text conversion in alternate media
  • Access to computer use, assistive technology, and alternate media
  • Accessible furniture (height adjustable tables, ergonomic chairs and keyboards)
  • Quiet, stress-reduced environment to support and enhance educational objectives.
