In the wake of a global pandemic, students at San Bernardino Valley College have had to quickly transition to online learning. To ease the shift to remote platforms and answer any questions along the way, the Student Services division launched a live Chabot to assist students in real time. Current and prospective students could visit valleycollege.edu and get assistance from a live SBVC representative about topics that range from how to apply to campus, how to make a counseling appointment, or how to reach a faculty member.

From the start of the pandemic, Scott Thayer, Ed.D. Vice President of Student Services, said campus leaders drilled down on the challenges students were facing to continue their online studies. He says that while students are physically distanced from the brick and mortar campus, there are a variety of resources like the Chatbox for students to connect with staff and get any of their questions answered.
