International Student Counseling
San Bernardino Valley College was established in 1926. It is a part of the California Community College System. The college is accredited by WASC ACCJC (the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.)
The college is located in the city of San Bernardino, about an hour from downtown Los Angeles, beaches, Disneyland, and Big Bear Mountain ski resort. It welcomes students from different countries of the world, with different immigration status--U.S. permanent residents, F-1 student visa holders, and other non-immigrant visa holders.
The Counseling Center provides students from foreign countries with the following services:
- Assistance in international application process (for international student visa applicants)
- Assistance in learning about college's international student services and the F-1 student visa regulations
- Assistance in evaluation of foreign transcripts (for students with foreign coursework or credentials)
- Assistance in career exploration in the U.S.
- Assistance in creating an educational plan leading toward student's career goal
- Assistance in learning about California Colleges for International Education programs available to SBVC students
