San Bernardino county employers seeking job-ready talent now have a FREE resource to post jobs: the San Bernardino County Community Colleges Jobs Consortium website, powered by College Central Network, Inc. (CCN).

The website (https://CollegeCentral.com/sbcccjobs) makes it both FREE and easy for all employers—large and small, public and private—to register just once and then post an unlimited number of jobs to San Bernardino’s community college students and alumni! This is an extraordinarily useful resource for employers hiring in today’s climate, even with temporarily closed or restricted campuses, and students taking classes from home.

Employers posting jobs today can simultaneously reach thousands of job seekers from Barstow College, Crafton Hills College, and San Bernardino Valley College.

“San Bernardino is the largest county in the contiguous United States, and one of the nation’s most populous. Offering our county’s employers a single gateway to post jobs for free, and simultaneously reach all Consortium colleges, is very powerful and directly benefits each college’s career programs and job seekers,” stated Shalita Tillman, Manager, CalWORKS and Workforce Development at San Bernardino Valley College. “In addition, CCN serves as a workforce pathway and networking system to allow job seekers and employers the opportunity to connect. Employers strive to identify students and community members with proficiency levels in many areas, such as human services, wastewater management, electrical, nursing, psychiatric technology and child development.”

“Our community colleges provide great value for employers and contribute directly to San Bernardino county’s economy. Our students are prepared and ready to move straight into our local workforce,” emphasized Tanesha Young, Interim Dean of Counseling and Student Success, Barstow Community College.

Young added, “Our career center saw an immediate jump in the number of job postings when the Consortium launched. Every possible obstacle has been removed, making it simple for San Bernardino county employers to register and post jobs for free. This is a remarkable value for organizations. Employers want job-ready talent and the Consortium can provide those jobs, targeting our students and alumni who want to live and work in our county. It’s a win/win for San Bernardino county.”

Trinette Barrie, Career Center Coordinator, Crafton Hills College said, “Our students are highly skilled and prepared to reach their career goals!”

Barrie continued, “The Consortium offers a direct talent pipeline to our county’s emerging job seekers. Many of our graduates are adults who have added new skills and are ready to step into jobs located in San Bernardino county. Some of our strongest majors include those with highly sought-after skills such as health and social science industries.”

Joy Miller, CCN’s Career Services Central® National Sales Manager, explained, “The Consortium is launching during the COVID-19 pandemic and at a time when many employers have been creating new job opportunities, and are rehiring as the country reopens. Employers need to target timely job postings in response. They are actively seeking college students and alumni willing and able to jump in to meet their state’s, county’s, or cities’ specific hiring conditions. San Bernardino community colleges are well positioned to help their local and state’s economies rebound now and to quickly fill their hiring needs in an era of rapid economic and technological change.”

Miller added, “Many employers traditionally have posted jobs only at the closest community colleges. But, with the Consortium, employers can easily extend their reach, at no cost, and post throughout the county, or target a specific combination of regional San Bernardino community colleges.”

CCN’s Career Services Central® is the exclusive online career office management platform for career centers at all participating colleges in the Consortium. Joy Miller sums it up: “Community colleges can have a greater impact on the county's economy. We have greatly simplified the process and allow employers to easily recruit the county’s home-grown entry-level talent. The San Bernardino Community Colleges Jobs Consortium website does exactly that, particularly with the added current complications of closed campuses, remote learning, and a difficult hiring environment.”

Statistics show that approximately 60,000 undergraduates attend San Bernardino county community colleges.*
