The Puente End of Year Celebration is a way to congratulate students who completed the special year-long program. The Puente Project works to support underrepresented students, pushing them to succeed by earning their degrees and then returning back to lead their communities. Puente students spend a year taking two writing classes and two student development classes, where they are also mentored by advisers. This year's celebration was attended by 30 students and 60 guests. "It's a wonderful day filled with pride for students, families, Puente faculty, and their assigned mentors," SSSP Coordinator Joseph Nguyen said. "It's a day of motivation for the students' future accomplishments and inspiration from the keynote speaker's message."
