On June 26, SBVC’s Science Division received an exciting letter from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE): SBVC’s pharmacy technology program has received national accreditation for the first time in its 15-year history.

Although not required, national accreditation is a prestigious honor that is highly sought-after by community college programs because it significantly increases employment prospects for gradates, as well as makes the program more attractive to potential students long-term.

By receiving accreditation, SBVC has become the first community college in the Inland Empire with an accredited pharmacy technology program.

Spearheaded by Dean Susan Bangasser, Program Director Robyn Seraj and Faculty Chair Lorrie Burnham, the accreditation effort now provides SBVC students with access to the highest-quality program available in the Inland Empire for a fraction of the cost of similar programs at private institutions.

 Congratulations SBVC!
