All video, film, and audio production equipment must be reserved through our online reservation sytem; Cheqroom. All students will receive an invite to join Cheqroom within the first 3 weeks of enrolling in a qualified production course. 

For access to services and equipment provided by the San Bernardino Community College District, productions must be run by students of the Film, TV, Media Department at San Bernardino Valley College. This means students who are either currently enrolled in FTVM production courses, completed those courses, or are alumni who completed FTVM production courses and are members of the IMA Alumni program. Please see equipment that alumni may access at the bottom of this page. All other equipment is restricted to use of currently enrolled students and faculty for use of instruction and enhanced training. 

Equipment Checkout Procedures for Students:
 
1.     Students must be enrolled in a FTVM production class or a have approval from faculty chair for productions outside of standard instruction. Classes that are not production classes are FTVM 101, 102, 103, 120, and 121.

2.    All equipment requests must be submitted through  cheqroom within one week of production. NO SAME DAY RESERVATIONS. 

3.     Equipment can only be checked out for course related productions during the semester of which the class occurs.

4.     Equipment can only be checked out off campus between Friday mornings to Monday afternoon. During regular academic terms this only includes Fall and Spring. *See Multi Media Lab Specialist for specific pick up and return times. 

5.     Students may check out equipment for use during the week of the production, if the production is completely on campus and is between normal operation hours. All equipment must be turned in before the equipment room is closed by the Lab Tech. This requires department chair approval in the form of a letter that must be submitted to the Multi Media Specialist. (See rule 2 for when that equipment request is due).

6.     All equipment checked out for department related productions must include proof of class registration, city or county permit or approved SBVC FUR, and certificate of insurance (COI). To obtain this the student must provide the department the name of the location and the address.

7.     If equipment is returned late by student whom it is checked out too, they will not be able to check out equipment off campus for the rest of the semester. If the following semester the student is late again they will forfeit their equipment checkout privileges. 

8.    Only the Lab Technician or faculty may check out equipment to students.  

9.     Equipment checkout is a privilege granted by the FTVM department. Students must maintain appropriate code of conduct in and around the department and maintain positive academic standing. 

10.    Students may incur costs of equipment if it is returned damaged or reported lost.

11.     ABSOLUTELY NO PETS AROUND EQUIPMENT.
 
12.     In your credits of your projects and on any social media feeds you must state one of the following, “This Project was    Funded through Film, TV, Media Department at San Bernardino Valley College” or Executive Produced by: FTVM/IMA at San Bernardino Valley College. Omitting this statement may affect access to equipment and resources.

*Note: To qualify for production insurance you must have a currently enrolled FTVM Student assigned to your project in a major role such as Producer, Director, Cinematographer, Lead Cast, Script Supervisor, Editor, or Audio Engineer.
