Instructor Comments :
This is a hybrid online course, meaning that we will meet regularly (every Friday from 10:00 to 11:50 am) for face-to-face classes in addition to the online component of this course.

The ONLINE component of this class requires regular participation via discussions, assignments, and exams--failure to consistently submit required work on time will make success in this class very difficult. Therefore, students who do not participate in the course each week may be dropped.

The primary textbook for this course is free and available online. Here is the link:

Along with the primary textbook, you will purchase an ethnography (the cost of a novel sized book) of your choosing. Other supplemental readings will be provided for you in Canvas.

Students must own a computer with internet connection, and be able to purchase the textbook for this course. Often public computers are not compatible with the online exams in this class.

You can call campus tech support for help with any issues you encounter using Canvas: 909-384-4357. Also, once in Canvas, you may click the "Help" icon in the main menu for additional user support resources.
