PASS GO - Transfering STEM Success
The HSI STEM PASS Go Grant was awarded to San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) by the U.S. Department of Education to provide support mechanisms that are intended to enhance success, completion, graduation and transfer rates of Hispanic students, low-income and underrepresented students in the STEM discipline. Careers in STEM, acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, are expected to continue to increase in the coming years. This grant will support SBVC efforts to prepare students for employment in STEM fields. Students will be exposed to various experiences including career awareness, soft skills education, and internships. Additionally, students will participate in STEM activities, events, field trips, and workshops. Such activities are intended to support and encourage students to persist in their chosen STEM majors.
The San Bernardino Valley College family has an opportunity to provide resources to students that will enhance their STEM success. Through our HSI STEM PASS GO partnership with California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), we believe that we can make a STEM difference in the lives of our students by assisting students with internships and scholarships at CSUSB.
