PURPOSE
The purpose of the Job Development and Placement Services at San Bernardino Valley College is to provide employment exploration for SBVC students entering or re-entering the workforce. Services include a broad scope of employment exploration and networking services for job development, placement and employment development. Individual counseling appointments are available at select times. Development of portfolios, internship placement; volunteer and paid cooperative education; job shadowing, employment development exploration strategies, including job placement information, job services strategies, and workshops will be available to all students.
JOB DEVELOPERS
Job Developers will work together on developing job leads, outreach and markets to community employers, workshops, and career development and job placement to students and clients. Job Developers make a professional connection with employers in the public and private sector. They facilitate orientations and workshops with and for employers; and for students and clients as well.
Job Developers prepare students for on and off-campus employment, volunteer and community services along with internships: resume writing, interviewing techniques and/or collaborate with one another to meet each student’s needs.
