What Is CalWORKs?

 

(California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids)

CalWORKs is the welfare reform program established January 1998 by Assembly Bill (AB) 1542.

San Bernardino Valley College CalWORKs Program has been designed to assist students on public assistance to enhance and achieve educational goals and employment self-sufficiency.  Qualified students are eligible to receive the following services:  book voucher, book loan, computer lab, parking permit voucher, childcare assistance, academic counseling, and employment assistance.

For more information or to enroll in the CalWORKs Program, visit the SBVC office located in the Campus Center Room 215.

Office Hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm; Thursday unitl 7pm.

  • The campus will be closed on the following days:  Monday, May 28, 2012 and Wednesday, May 30, 2012.
  • SBVC CalWORKs summer hours 7am to 6pm beginning June 4, 2012 through August 2, 2012; closed every Friday and holidays.)
