Do I need to purchase student health insurance?
Healthcare in the U.S. is very expensive. A small operation or a couple of days of stay in a hospital can cost you tens of thousands of US dollars. As a result, the college requires that all international students purchase student health insurance. There is a college clinic that teaches students how to live a healthy life and treats minor sickness such as cold or headache. However, students who are seriously ill or injured have to see a doctor outside of the college. Student health insurance will cover most of the cost. Insurance may be purchased from ISO Student Health Insurance
or other insurance companies. It must be purchased prior to the class registration period each semester. Incoming international students can purchase their health insurance after arriving in the United States. For further information about health insurance, please contact International Student Counselor
