Steps leading towards your college success
To improve educational outcomes for students and better prepare the workforce needed for California economy, Governor Brown signed Student Success Act of 2012 into law. The bill will help more California community college students reach their goal of earning a degree, certificate, career advancement or transfer to a four-year university.
To set a clear academic and/or career goal and reach the goal in a reasonable time, the bill requires that all students complete college orientation and basic skills assessment before they start taking college courses, and develop an educational plan leading toward their goal. SBVC counselors are ready to work with students in achieving their college success.
To help students succeed, SBVC Counseling Center organizes many workshops. To learn more about the workshops for the fall of 2015, please view Student Success Workshop Postcard and Student Success Shop Flyer.
