The faculty of the Counseling Department can assist you in making informed decisions about your academic, career, and life goals. We want you to complete your goals in a timely manner. Thus, in your visit with us, you will get assisted in these areas:  

1. Identifying your academic goal through exploration of your aspirations, interest, values, needs, and other related areas of who you are and where you want to take your life in the next level of achievement.
2. Selecting the courses you need to meet the requirements for associate degrees, certificates, and transfer programs.
3. Understanding the college culture and your progression towards graduation and/ or transfer.

As a first time student at SBVC, and before you visit the Counseling Center, you will have to do the following steps:

• Apply for admissions on-line.
• Paricipate in the college orientation either on-campus or on-line after you receive your student ID number.
  • Attend the inter-active on-line orientation.
  • Make an appointment for on-campus orientation at the Assessment Center.
    
• Schedule an appointment for an assessment test.
• See the counseling faculty in AD/SS 103 during the office hours.
