San Bernardino Valley

On Saturday, December 17, San Bernardino Valley College President Diana Z. Rodriguez will be leading the campus’s first-ever ‘Day of Service,’ a volunteer community outreach effort to remind local residents about the benefits of the many programs being offered at the college during the Spring 2017 semester. Outreach teams composed of staff and students will be visiting residents in the neighboring communities of San Bernardino, Colton, Rialto, and Highland between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

“We are spreading the word about our programs to the community around us in every way we can,” says Rodriguez. “There may be potential students in our own neighborhood who may not know about the amazing educational and career opportunities available for them just a few blocks away.”

San Bernardino Valley College was recently a finalist for the 2017 Aspen Prize, a prestigious national award given to the top-performing community college in the country. Featuring over 140 different degree and certificate pathways, the college excels at offering a diverse choice of online and on-campus courses to prepare graduates for hundreds of in-demand career fields.

Neighborhoods for the ‘Day of Service’ event will be selected by college staff and students who live in the communities they will be visiting.
