SAN BERNARDINO, CA (August 18, 2016) – The newest and biggest building on San Bernardino Valley College’s campus has just been completed! The massive, 3-story Kinesiology & Athletics Complex covers 108,509 square feet of gyms, classrooms, and study spaces that opened to students for the first time this week.

Referred to by students as simply the “Gym,” the complex includes 2 large gyms, basketball courts, a fitness room, a weight room and locker rooms that are available to students who sign up for physical education classes or play for the college’s sports teams. Other facilities include a large lecture hall, a computer lab, and classrooms that will be used for a variety of instructional purposes.

The college’s athletics program has a long and celebrated history, with 9 national championships, 27 state championships, and 182 conference championships to its name. The new complex is replacing two older gym structures—the Snyder Gym and Women’s Gym—that are in the process of demolition to make way for additional campus upgrades.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which will be followed by self-guided tours around the new facility.
