Half of graduating class already in the hiring process for full-time employment with a variety of law enforcement agencies
San Bernardino Valley College celebrated the success of 25 students who graduated as Class #31 of the Extended Basic Police Academy on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in the SBVC Auditorium. More than half of the graduating students are already in the process of being hired by law enforcement agencies such as: San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and San Bernardino City Unified School District Police.
Surrounded by friends, family members, Police Academy staff, and future employers, the ceremony included a keynote address from San Bernardino County Undersheriff Robert Fonzi, presentation of awards and certificates, and a recitation of the code of ethics.
The 50-week Extended/Part-Time Academy features instructors from a variety of law enforcement agencies including the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the City of San Bernardino Police Department, and more. After being accepted to the program, students are required to attend classes and training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday nights, all day Saturdays, and other meetings by arrangement.
