Unique, interactive event to raise funds for Friends of the Gallery at SBVC
Join The Friends of the Gallery for the annual Raku Dinner/Holiday Celebration on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. in Art Room 107.
The moment of firing is the essence of Raku the pearl glaze, the luster, the soft crackle, the captured moment when the molten glaze and the smoking embers are one. On this day, join the celebration of this classic and unique pottery, where fire, earth and chance merge.
Menu items include:
• Sweet & Sour Pork over White Rice
• Fresh Spring Vegetable Rolls
• Stir-Fried Vegetables
• Salads & Desserts plus Beverage
• Continuous Entertainment
A donation of $13.00 per person, $25.00 per couple, and/or $5.00 for students, includes dinner, and a raw raku vessel, which you can decorate anytime, between noon and 6:30pm on the day of the dinner.
Assistance, and decorating materials, will be available with the raku vessels to decorate, inside Art Room 120. Your work (fired during the dinner), will be available at the end of the evening. Pre-decorated vessels will also be available. Art items will be available for silent auction with bidding on site. Hand-blown glass ornaments will also be available for purchase. Parking is free.
