Course Title : Reserve Level III Officer

Course Description : This course satisfies Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) requirements for Level III reserve peace officer certification. The PC 832 course is merged in this Level III course. Curriculum covers ethics and professionalism, history of law enforcement, the criminal justice system, defensive tactics, information systems, criminal law, crimes against persons and property, laws of arrest, firearms, driver awareness, first aid and CPR, custody, crimes in progress and report writing. THIS COURSE IS LIMITED TO STUDENTS WHO HAVE SUCCESSFULLY MET STATE SCREENING REQUIREMENTS: POSSESSION OF A CALIFORNIA DRIVER'S LICENSE WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS, OTHER THAN REQUIRED EYEGLASSES OR CONTACT LENSES AND POSSESSION OF A CURRENT LETTER OF CLEARANCE ISSUED BY THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE THAT CERTIFIES THE RIGHT TO BE IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM.
