| - Frequently Asked Questions |
|---|
- Does eSchedule affect Registration? NO the eSchedule does not affect registration. If you want to register online, you must click on the "Apply & Register", then the "Register for Classes" link on the right menu bar.
- How often is the eSchedule updated? The eSchedule is updated every morning between 7:45 and 8:45 am.
- What is the planner? The planner lets you select classes and list all the required information to register. Then you can print it out or view the list while your are registering on the phone, online, or at the admissions office. It requires a javascript enabled browser.
- Where is the planner stored? The planner is stored in a cookie on your machine. The cookie won't expire for a year, or until you delete the cookie from your machine. We do not store your planner on the server.
- What browsers does the eSchedule support? The eSchedule supports most recent browsers for online and offline viewing. The planner requires a javascript enabled browser. Such browsers are Netscape Navigator 6 and above, Firefox or Mozilla, Opera 8+, and Internet Explorer 5 or above. The offline updater requires the Sun Java Plug-in version 1.5.0+, and only works with Netscape Navigator 4.7+or higher, Mozilla 1.2.1+, Opera 8+, and Internet Explorer 5.5 or 6.
- What are the system requirements for the eSchedule? Simply viewing the eSchedule has no system requirements. Only that you are running a recent browser. The offline updater requires the Sun Java Plug-in. See http://www.java.com/en/download/help/sysreq.jsp for system requirements for the Sun Java Plug-in.
- Why do I get the message "Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content...." or why won't javascript work in the offline version? Service Pack 2 added a feature to Internet Explorer that helps restrict javascript running on your local machine. You can ignore this message and not use any of the javascript, planner, or update features. They are not necessary to view the eSchedule. If you want to use the javascript, planner, or update features, just left click on the message at the top of your window, and click "Allow blocked content" and click "yes" on the resulting message. This will remove the message and allow javascript until the next time you open the eSchedule.
- Why do i get a security warning asking me to"trust the signed applet distributed by "San Bernardino Community College District"?" when I run the update applet on the offline version? Java applets require special security privileges when accessing files on your local machine. The security warning tells you who made the applet and who verifies that the applet is safe. If you do not click on "yes" or "always" on this warning, the update applet will not work. If you do not wish to click on "yes" or "always" on this warning, you can always re-download and re-install the eSchedule to get the latest updates.
