Wilmer Amina Carter has been an assembly member for the 62nd Assembly District since 2006. She was a Rialto Unified School District trustee for 16 years and has a high school in Rialto named for her.

Assembly Member Wilmer Amina Carter represents the 62nd Assembly District. Carter graduated from San Bernardino High School and attended SBVC. She earned her Bachelors and Masters' degrees from California State University,  San Bernardino. Carter was a trustee with the Rialto Unified School District for 16 years and has a high school named for her in Rialto - Wilmer Amina Carter High School. She was a staff member for the late Congressman George Brown for 26 years. Carter sits on five Assembly committees including Budget, Education, Health, Insurance and Utilities and Commerce.
