First-time Students

As a first time student, you can get started right from the beginning with Scholarships!

First time or new students can benefit from many of the scholarship applications found on this website.  Many times students read in the criteria that you must be enrolled or registered to even apply for a scholarship.  It is important to understand that for most scholarships some type of verification of enrollment will be requested from the Scholarship agency or organization that issues your award.  This is usually done after the selections are made, so you don't have to be enrolled when you apply but when you actually receive the funds.

The SBVC Scholarship office recommends that new students who are planning to enroll in a future semester make it clear in their application when they are actually enrolling.  It is also important to understand that being admitted to the college is not the same as being enrolled and registered in classes.

SBVC runs on a Semester schedule which means you must indicate that you are enrolling in one of the following:

  • Spring 2011 Semester
  • Summer  2011 Semester
  • Fall 2011 Semester
  • Spring 2012 Semester

For class schedule and registration information please visit the Admissions and Records webpage.
