It's your job to complete the Online Application and our job to select the best SBVC students!
How to
Apply RECAP:
Each year, over 100 inside scholarships are consolidated into one online application process known as the SBVC Online Scholarship Application. Once you’ve completed your application, you will be matched with any of these scholarships for which you qualify. In the spring, the Scholarship Committee will award scholarships to the qualified students who best match the criteria of each specific scholarship. To apply you must:
- Have completed at least 12 units at SBVC by the end of fall 2011 Fall Semester, which is December 2011.
- Have been enrolled in at least 6 units in the Fall 2011 semester
- Be enrolled in at least 6 units in the Spring 2012 semester.
Your GPA and your completed units are often important, but several scholarships favor need or other qualities over grades or units. If you meet the above minimum requirements, you are encouraged to follow the direction below to apply. A GPA of 2.5 or higher is recommended.
2012-2013 Scholarships Apply Online:

What Happens Next?
After completing the SBVC Online Scholarship Application, what happens next? The SBVC Scholarship Committee begin
s the selection process which takes place from January - March. We read hundreds of applications and have a series of meetings to make selections. In April, the final scholarship decisions are made and notifications are sent to students via their SBVC Student Email account. We do NOT send notifications by mail or phone. Don't miss out on scholarship awards because you are not using your Valley College student email account! If you do not respond to your email notification in April, your award could go to another student. All new scholarship announcements are also sent to students through their student email, so checking your Valley College account at least once a week could result in even more scholarship opportunities for you. If you know that checking your SBVC student email is going to be a problem, consider forwarding your emails to another email account that you do check regularly or to your cell phone so that you do not miss any scholarship information. For more information on how to access your SBVC Student Email contact the HELP desk for technical support.
The Scholarship Award Ceremony for these scholarships will be held on Wednesday, May 09, 2012 in the SBVC Auditorium. Details about how to claim your scholarship and the award ceremony will be in your SBVC student email notification if you are selected.
If you did not receive an email, don't be discouraged. Most students need to apply multiple times to receive a scholarship. The next step is to start applying for Outside Scholarships.
