Students who feel that their knowledge of a subject is equivalent to the content of a course offered by the college may apply for credit-by-examination. The student is responsible for obtaining all required signatures & approvals. More information at (p. 12) the SBVC College Catalog.
To change or correct general information (Name, SSN, D.O.B., etc.) on your student account submit to AD/SS-100, A & R; must present proof with picture identification.
When a student is deficient in a requirement for graduation, there is a option of filing a Petition for Academic Exception. The Student Policies & Scholastic Standards Committee will consider each petition on the basis of its overall individual merit.
When a student is deficient in a major requirement there is an option of filing a course substitution or waiver. Twelve (12) units, or 50 percent of the coursework required for a certificate, whichever is the lesser, must be completed at SBVC. More information at (p. 33) the SBVC College Catalog.
Some may be required to submit a questionnaire to clarify residency or apply for a reclassification. Residency changes are not automatic. Residency will not be changed once the semester has begun.
Those who wish to be graded in any class on a Pass/No Pass basis must submit the appropriate form no later than the end of the first 30 percent of the course. More information at (p. 10) the SBVC College Catalog.
Waiting period for a duplicate copy of your original diploma, Certificate of Achievement or Certificate of Career Preparation is 3 weeks at a cost of $10.
A student may be reinstated one semester after the date of dismissal. Students enrolled following dismissal shall be on probationary status for one semester. Students must meet with a counselor before submitting a Petition for Readmission. More information at (p. 16) the SBVC College Catalog.
