Theater Arts is the study of human expression which culminates in live performance
Courses offered by the Theatre Arts department emphasize individual creativity, personal interaction, and communication skills. Courses are designed to meet the needs of students fulfilling general education requirements and the needs of students who are pursuing theatre as a major.
The Theater Arts Department coordinates several student performances each year.
The Theater Arts Department is proud to introduce our new instructor, Dr. Melinda Fogle Oliver.

Melinda Fogle Oliver received a Ph.D. in Theatre from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, an M.A. in Theatre from the University of Kentucky, and a B.F.A. in Theatre: Acting from Miami University in Ohio. Dr. Oliver has also studied Theatre Abroad at the University of East Anglia in Norwich England. Dr. Oliver served as a Theatre Instructor at Bowling Green University, the Head of the Theatre Department for Cerro Coso Community College, and a Professor of Communication at Bakersfield College. She also worked as a Development Assistant for LightStorm Entertainment, the exclusive production company for James Cameron. She is a member of the SAG/AFTRA Union and a member of several professional organizations including ATHE and NCA.
Dr. Oliver enjoys all aspects of Theatre, especially Directing and Writing. She enjoys teaching theatre, writing, and spending time with her family.
