The SBVC RTVF Department welcomes film festival submissions from southern California High Schools, Community Colleges, and both public and private Universities.

Prizes for Spring 2014:

Best Editing, Film: Avid Software

Best Editing, Documentary: Avid Software

Best Producer, University: Movie Magic Scheduling and Budgeting

Best Producer, Community College: Movie Magic Scheduling and Budgeting

Best Cinematographer (all entries): Sony HDR-AS15 camera

Best Native American/Cultural Film: (film by, about, and/or starring Native Americans or other indigenous peoples from around the world): Two free all-access tickets to the 2015 Native American Film Festival in Palm Springs

Trophies will be awarded for a variety of categories, which may include

  • Best news/reality/documentary
  • Best action/adventure
  • Best comedy or romantic comedy
  • Best family/children's film
  • Best science fiction, thriller, horror, or fantasy
  • Best musical
  • Best animation
  • Best romance

Special Cash Awards!

$100 cash prize to the student filmmaker who brings the most supporters (must sign in at registration for one film)
$30 cash prize to the student filmmaker who brings in the second most supporters (must sign in at registration for one film)
$20 cash prize to the student filmmaker who brings in the third most supporters (must sign in at registration for one film)
