This degree/certificate is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in manufacturing using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and spindles to produce precision metal parts.

For the associate degree, students must complete all requirements for the certificate with a Grade of C or better plus the general breadth requirements for the Associate of Science Degree (minimum total of 60 units).

Students working for certificates must have a basic knowledge of arithmetic, reading and writing in order to learn and work in the occupations they select.
