SBVC's 12,000+ students, staff, and faculty are committed to doing our part to promote sustainable practices and policies.

San Bernardino Valley College (as part of the San Bernardino Community College District) is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) which promotes sustainable practices in operations and activities within higher education. Green-friendly construction practices are now part of every building and modernization project--including the opening of SBVC's new Physical Sciences building that will be the first LEED-certified building once formally reviewed.

SBVC campus staff and faculty have contributed to the SBCCD Sustainability Plan and the SBVC Alternative Energy Concept Plan while the forthcoming Central Plant project will reduce SBVC's energy consumption by 20%.
