FLEX Scheduling: Evening, Weekend and Online College
|
| Flexible Scheduling is the Key to Evening/Weekend College/Online College
Our mission is to meet the needs of a diverse population therefore; we offer a variety of programs to meet student needs. Programs are available in the evening, on the weekend, and online to assist students that have work and family obligations. By combing courses that are offered during the evening, the weekend, with online instruction will allow you to complete your degree/certificate or transfer to a four-year university while you work and/or take care of family obligations. Evening/Weekend/Online programs offer a variety of courses scheduled to give the flexibility to choose the program (or combination of programs) that best fits your needs.
Evening
Evening classes offer a variety of classes offered during the evening from Monday through Thursday. Classes start at 5:00 p.m. and end at 10:00 p.m.
Weekend College
The Weekend College offers a variety of courses during weekend hours, Friday evening and all day Saturday. Completion of Weekend College coursework meets the requirements for an Associates degree, transfer to a four-year university or a certificate. Weekend College classes are offered in an accelerated format. These fast paced classes require energy, determination, and strong organizational skills. Most of the three unit classes are offered in either eight or nine week sessions. Courses that require more time to "grasp" (especially four and five unit courses) are usually offered in the traditional full-term format.
Online College
Online classes can provide flexibility so that students can complete coursework at times that are convenient to your schedule of social, family, or work activities. Working from the comfort of a personal computer may also save time and money associated with transportation and childcare. Online courses do not require few on-campus meetings. Hybrid classes ( a combination of online and face-to-face) may require a few on-campus meetings. Click here for more information on Online College courses.
Prior to enrolling into the accelerated Weekend College, meet with a counselor and design an education plan. Speak to the counselor about specific program needs. Education plans may include some developmental math and English coursework (basic skills). Completion time for the developmental courses will depend upon your level of development as well as your daily schedule.
