Health Services are available to help you stay healthy and to assist in the treatment of illnesses so that you can remain in school and work toward reaching your educational goals. The student health services office is located in the Women's Gym, Room 9. Student Health Services office hours are:
Monday and Friday 8:00am-6:30pm
Friday 8:00am-12:00pm

Health Services offered include:
Health screening- Blood Pressure, Vision, Hearing, TB skin test
Health education and counseling
Referrals to community services
Women's Clinic- Consultation, Pap Smear, Birth Control, Breast Exam, STD screening
Immunizations- MMR, Tetanus, Hepatitis B, Flu
TB skin tests
On campus first aid and emergency care
Physician consultation, treatment, and referral by appointment
Relationship and Family Counseling services by appointment
Health fairs, class presentations, and workshops on various health topics
Support groups
Health services such as office visits, consultations, and most health screenings are FREE. A nominal fee is charged for pharmacy services, immunizations, and some screening procedures.
A Health and Accident fee paid at the time of registration supports Health Services. The amount of the fee is posted in the schedule of classes. Student are not charged the health fee if they qualify for fee waiver. In addition to the Health and Accident fee, International students attending SBVC on a student visa must purchase a Student's Accident and Sickness medical expense plan and provide a negative tuberculin skin test or a chest x-ray. An additional optional Student Insurance plan may be purchased to cover injury and sickness for an annual fee of approximately $650.00. If you have no medical insurance, you may qualify for low cost MediCal or Healthy Families insurance provided through state and or federal funds. Applications for these plans are available at the health services office.
